Hi I'm Jenny Lynn

I'm a collector of memories, I make every moment a musical, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, this is probably the hardest thing I've had to write. What on earth could I tell you about myself that would even be slightly interesting? I guess I'll just start by giving you a few simple basics: I'm one of the oldest out of a family of 8 kids, I grew up on a small family farm (I hated milking that cow in the winter time! my fingers froze!), I love just about anything to do with the arts. Welp... that doesn't seem to be leading this into anything more exciting, so let's try skipping ahead....

Why I am a Mormon

I absolutely love my family, but for the past year or so I've been living apart from them with very limited contact. I've been doing the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. It's been so hard because I don't handle hard things too well. I have depression. i'm pretty used to the comment, "just get over it". I guess I'm pretty used to telling myself that. The best description I've ever heard for it though was that it's like we're all out in a lake swimming. Some people are better swimmers than others. I've never been the best swimmer to begin with... that's beside the point... any way, I was told that to have depression is like tying a weight to your ankle. Now try swimming. Some days the weight is so light it doesn't even feel like it's there, and there are other days that it feels like I've got 50lbs hanging off of me. So what does this have to do with why I'm a Mormon, why I'm still a member of the church of jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? This gospel, Christ's gospel has given me the hope that I need to keep living my life. It has given me the understanding that I need to know that even when things get really bad, 50lbs bad, that I have someone on my side. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He knows more than anyone what my life is like. He's the one who cheers me on from the sidelines and even jumps in when I need someone to keep me from drowning. I would not be able to live without the comfort that this gospel brings to me.

How I live my faith

.... Yup, that last one was a bit of a downer... let's pick it back up.... I absolutely LOVE service! I love the feeling that I get when i am helping someone else. It is the greatest stress releaver. When I am serving someone else I'm not worrying about myself and my own problems. This church gives me so many opportunities to serve. I guess you could say that's how I live my faith, I serve.
