Hi I'm Micah Valentine

I’m an adventurer, I’m an entrepreneur, I’m a husband, I’m a daddy, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small pond with big ideas. I have the smartest and most disciplined dad in the entire world. He took me to places most people would write books about. I'm well traveled, speak multiple languages, and have a force inside me pushing me to do more. I climb mountains, jump from planes, raft down rivers and laugh a lot. The more I do the more I want to share with others my experiences. My three girls are literally the cutest things anyone has ever seen, and my wife supports and participates with me as I'm beginning to take the girls along. I love life, I enjoy my friends and family, and I'm not stopping!

Why I am a Mormon

Its hard to articulate the feeling inside me which tells me it's true, but I know its true. I've always known it. As life progresses around me I can feel the influence of the spirit and a long term understanding of why I'm here on Earth settles in my mind. That's really what the gospel does, it focuses me on the important things in life. It focuses me on the things that make me happy. It focuses me on service, family, charity and kindness. I love the gospel and I need it to be happy. Throughout the ups and downs of this thing called life I've, of course, been closer and farther away from my Heavenly Father. Looking back now I can say with certainty that the happy times are when I am closer to God. I can look back and see when the Holy Spirit has guided me, or better said, when I followed Him! I'm so thankful that I know God IS MY Heavenly Father. I'm thankful I know Jesus Christ's part in the plan for my personal salvation. I'm thankful for parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who have invested time in my personal progression. I'm thankful for the opportunity to pass that down to my girls. I've often thought of where I would be without the Church of Jesus Christ in my life and I honestly don't know, but what I do know is I'm in a much better place because it is in my life!

How I live my faith

I have an assignment in our local section of the church (called a ward). My job is to work with the young men in a variety of ways. I work with them in scouting and help them progress as an individual spiritually, physically and mentally. It’s fun, busy, and dynamic. I get to see them grow and change and become better people. I feel like I’m one small part in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. It’s a very rewarding assignment and I can't imagine a better thing to do. It’s fun to have an inquisitive kid do something great first time, and it’s fun to help them understand why their Heavenly Father loves them and what they have to offer the world. We just try to add onto their life and help their strong qualities be identified and help their weaker points become strong. The Church of Jesus Christ is a lifestyle and people need to know that. They need to know HOW to live a better life, and WHAT things to do to make them happier. My job is to help them know for themselves what those things are and how to do them consistently. I love it and wouldn't want it any other way.
