Hi I'm Laree

I am from Arizona. I graduated from ASU. I am married with 4 fantastic children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 14 years and have 4 wonderful children. I graduated from ASU in Speech and Hearing Science. I worked in many different jobs from manufacturing gumball machines to auto paint to preschool. My most favorite job is being a mom! I love to be active and outside. I love adventure. I have completed in 3 sprint triathlons and now want to compete in an olympic distance tri. I enjoy running and riding my bicycle. I traveled to Haiti to help after the earthquake and made a lifelong friend there. I love to help others. I love to make good food and to eat good food. Chocolate is definitely at the top of the list.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The gospel and principles that are taught bring me much happiness. Knowing that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know who I am and what I struggle with is huge. Jesus Christ is my perfect example. By following Him and His teachings I can grow to reach my full potential. I have a long way to go but that is why I am here - to learn and to grow and to improve each day. I know I have a true prophet today who guides me and helps me along the way. He is who Christ has sent to help me in these latter days and to give me direction. I love my family with all my heart. Knowing that I can be with them forever - not just in this lifetime - but forever is one of the greatest blessings. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me so many good things and makes me very happy. I am happy and proud to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I attend church each week. It is one of my favorite days of the week. I help with the youth of the church. I am the secretary in the presidency over the young women ages 12-18. I help keep the Sunday lessons organized for the young women. I help keep these young women excited to set goals in various areas to help them learn and grow and to know who they are. Some of the areas the girls work on are, faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity and virtue. I also help with their weekly activities and occasional firesides or devotionals. I hope I can be a great example to these young women. I also get to visit some of the ladies once a month. The ladies I visit are in an assisted living home. The spirit I feel when I go to this home is unbelievable. It is a wonderful place to visit and feel the spirit. I get to share a message from the prophet with these ladies and I am their friend. Being a Mormon isn't just something I do occasionally - it is who I am - It is my life - it is why I am here. Christ teaches us about charity - charity isn't just what you do - it is who you are to become - Christ is charity. I want to be charity - I want to be like Christ. So - each day I pray and repent. I am here to make mistakes - by making mistakes I will grow. The more I grow, the closer I can come to Christ. If I follow His teachings and be an example then I will be able to live with Him someday along with my family! How exciting is that!!
