Hi I'm Kathy

I am a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father, who loves me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent most of my life being a wife and mother. That is a full time job, but has provided me the benefits of learning to do lots of things! Some of my hobbies have included sewing, quilting, baking, cake decorating, gardening, biking, water skiing, and most recently being the general contractor in building our new home. Although I'm not a professional at any of these things, I have been blessed to be able to learn enough about them to serve my family and friends with these talents. I've had experiences in life that have helped me to learn many things....sometimes the hard way! But when I've gotten through those times I've been able to reflect on the many blessings that I've been given and recognized the help I've received from my Heavenly Father, my family, and many others. Entering into the stage of being a grandparent is a fairly new thing for me.... and a learning process as well. But it is such a joy and a blessing to see them grow and learn!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life..... but I am also a convert to the church. I believe we each have to be converted and gain our own testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Without a testimony of my own I would be unable to continue to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have spent a lot of time pondering and studying the scriptures and praying to know for myself that this is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and that Joseph Smith was a prophet who was called of God. That testimony naturally leads to a testimony that we have a living prophet on the earth today and that he receives direction and revelation for us on the earth at this time. It is hard to explain in words how I know this, but it is part of my very soul. I have a hard time imagining what the purpose of life would be if this life was all there was, or if there was nothing more to do or learn after this life. Knowing that there is a plan in place that allows all of us, children of our Heavenly Father, to continue to grow and progress and even become like Him if we choose to follow the Savior and repent of our sins, gives me a wonderful purpose to life.

How I live my faith

It's important to me to be able to serve wherever I am needed. I helped at school when my children were young. Serving in our Ward has given me many opportunities to associate with others and to learn skills that I would have not had another opportunity to learn. Opportunities to serve have come in many different areas and I've always been blessed by fulfilling those assignments. Some of the ways I've been able serve include teaching and serving in our Ward children, youth, and adult organizations. Helping to organize special events, playing the piano, looking out for and visiting members of our Ward and others who are interested in the church. Basically being willing to serve wherever and whenever I am asked is an important way I live my faith.
