Hi I'm John

I'm a dad, a singer, a data miner, and a football coach. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of three incredible children and have been happily married for nearly 15 years. We love to travel as a family. I work as a data miner and marketing consultant. I grew up in Alaska, served an LDS mission South Korea and have raised my family in Colorado. I sing with the Colorado Mormon Chorale and coach my son in football. I enjoy reading, especially history and science fiction, as well as playing chess.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon by loving parents. As children, we learned to love the gospel. I was raised to serve a mission for the church, which I did at the age of 19 in South Korea for two years. I especially learned to love the gospel of Jesus Christ then as I taught the wonderful Korean people. As a father and a husband, I derive great value from continued activity with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are blessed by the fellowship of other church members with similar values and goals for their families. The gospel has brought me great comfort during troubled times in my life.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday, I have the privilege to teach eight fantastic ten-year-olds the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the scriptures. We have a great time together as we read the scriptures and consider how to apply it in our lives. We also study the scriptures as a family each day (when possible) which has brought a lot of happiness to our home. I also have the privilege to visit the temple with my wife. We enjoy the calm and peace the temple brings to our busy lives. As a singer, I have opportunities to participate with a number of choirs at the local Ward (parish) level and also for the Colorado Mormon Chorale.
