Hi I'm Marilyn

I grew up in Southern California. I am a teacher, a potter & a sculptor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 7 children, grandmother of 21 & great grandmother of 2. I enjoy art - painting with oils & water colors, but really enjoy working with clay. I am a potter & sculptor, using mostly stoneware clay with various methods of firing. I have taught ceramics in high school & love collaborating on pieces with my grandson.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church to a dedicated family. I love the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ & have always been active in the Church. My testimony continues to grow of the divinity of my Savior. I know he lives & that he died & rose again so that I may return to my Heavenly Father. I know that by making & keeping sacred covenants in the Temple, we may gain exhaltation & be able to live together as families for eternity.

How I live my faith

I have served in many areas of service in the wards in which I have lived. I spent the majority of my time working with the youth of the Church, mainly teenagers. I have taught them in classes, in sports, camping, & service projects. One of the most fun & challenging things I did while working with the youth was to produce & direct road shows. These were shows which included large casts, with music, dancing, & drama. I have been a visiting teacher to other women in the ward, which is very rewarding to get to really know these women & to serve them. For the past year I have been serving a full time Welfare Service Mission for the Church. I serve in an Employment Resource Center which brings much joy as we help unemployed & under employed people find jobs in this tough economic time.
