Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Spokane and have lived in the area for all of my life.

About Me

I just turned 50 this year and it hasn't been too bad. I drive the big trucks for a local company and am home every day. I have a daughter and 3 sons in that order. My oldest son served a full time mission number 2 did not and I am still waiting for number 3 to put his paper work in. I have been married for 30 years to my high school sweetheart. My dad and stepmom moved in about 2 years ago as my dad is now 86 and not getting around very well. They are members of the Church. It has been a blessing having them living with us. I have learned a lot about the Chruch and about life from them. I have an older adopted sister and older brother. After my parents got divorced my mom stayed active in the Church for a couple of years. We then started moving around and went to Church less and less. I stayed inactive till my daughter was about 9. Then the missionarys showed up one day and my wife started taking the discussions. I did also. I was able baptise my wife and daughter and have been active in the Church ever since. The more I study and learn about the Church and who my Savior is and what He has done for me the more thankful I am for having the Church in my life. It has been a blessing beyond measure to have the knowledge of who my Savior is and why we are here.

Why I am a Mormon

Thorugh learning about my Savior and why He came to earth I have found the ability to love others and have compassion for them. I love the ability to be able to serve others with the love like my Savior has. One of the things I love about the Church is that it teaches me that my Savior knows me and loves me even when I fall short and do things that are wrong. Thourgh the Book of Mormon I have learned how to be a better person, husband and father. Knowing that my Savior has forgiven me for the things that I have done wrong in the past and all the mistakes I will make has given me a great love for Him and desire to always strive to be and do the best I can be. I have found that I can't do this on my own. I know that The Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints is true and that we have a true Prophet that has been called of God. I am very thankful and blessed to hold the same Priesthood that Jesus Christ holds. It is a great honor and privliage to be able give someone a priesthood blessing and know it comes for our Father in Heaven. I am greatful to be able to enter into Temple. It is a place where you can find peace and get away from the cares found outside in the world. I have had answers given to me there to qustions that have troubled me. I have been able to be sealed to my wife and childern for time and eternity. This blessing is one of the most important things that I have done in my life. And why I continue to want to be like my Savior.

How I live my faith

In Church we have the oppertunity to serve. One of the reasons for this that I have figured out is our Father in Heaven knows the things that we need to know to become a better person. He knows what will make us a stronger and or better person. Quite offten He will use our strengths or things that come easy for us to do. I have found that I have a great ability to enjoy beeing around older people. I have been given several callings where I have to be able to teach people alittle younger and alot older than me. To be able to do this requires me to read my Bible and Book of Mormon alot more than I use to. This has tought me about what my Savior wants me to be and how to act. I find that if I use the things I learn from the scriptures I enjoy life. Right know I am serving as the ward mission leader, I get to work a lot with the young men who ride bikes and wear white shirts and ties. As I was not active in Church when I was 19 I did not serve a mission. This has been a great blessing to me and my family. I look forward to going to Church each Sunday. I enjoy sharing the things that I have learned about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
