Hi I'm Karl

I grew up in Illinois, moved to Arizona, and then to South Carolina and come from a very close-knit family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father to two boys and a baby girl. They consume most of my time outside of work and church. My wife is a strong woman and a great mother to our children. Family is a very important part of my life and that is why I love spending time with them (most of the time!). I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Spanish. I have lived in six different states (Illinois, Arizona, South Carolina, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming), and in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the emphasis on the family. There is no doubt that a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a love for family. Families are central to God's plan, and as such, we can live with them forever if we do what is necessary. I know that the plan provided to us includes a Savior, Jesus Christ, to take our sins upon Him, and that we can return to live with God and Jesus Christ if we are worthy to do so. This is what keeps me going strong.

How I live my faith

I am the Executive Secretary of my ward in Hartsville. This means that I take care of our lead pastor (called a bishop) in our area. I set his schedule and make sure he has time to see all those that need to see him. I am now combining my love of the scriptures with my love of other languages and have begun reading the Book of Mormon in Portuguese in order to further my spiritual and lanaguage abilities. It's been a great way to study! Since being old enough to have a responsiblity, I've taught the 10-11 year olds in Sunday School, been active in our Scouting program, and have taught the adult Sunday School course.
