Hi I'm Cheryl Munsey

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm Cheryl. I am the oldest of 2 with one sister. I am married to an awesome guy who is big into cycling and very in shape. I am a mother of 3 ages 25, 19, 17 and have 2 granddaughters. they are the light of my life! My favorite time is when our family goes boating, camping, biking, hiking, vacations to the beach in many places basically spending time together. I love nature, reading motivational books and enjoy country music. Our family is big into sports football, rugby, dance, lacrosse, wrestling, and many others...Our children have all played sports for many years and we had so much fun at all their games/events. In fact I miss the games/performances a lot. I have also had a few different careers in finance, sales and teaching. Over the past 10 years I have worked my own business from home and love network marketing and helping others. I'm a passionate entrepreneur.

Why I am a Mormon

My journey to choosing to be baptized a Mormon was a wonderful experience. When I was 18 years old back in 1981 I was confused and had questions that I could not find in the religion / church I was raised in. There were gaps that were not making sense. I had an Aunt at the time who I visited in Nebraska with my cousins and sister and we were weathering a possible tornado...she quickly taught me how she prayed and read to us from the Book of Mormon. I felt warmth and safety I know now that was the spirit speaking to me. I came home back to Denver from that trip and called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had them send missionaries to my home where I began learning about the Mormon beliefs and getting my questions answered. It was a very special time in my life finishing high school and choosing a college. Where I later ended up at BYU Idaho. I studied the Book of Mormon and was taught by young Elders from the church for about 5 weeks. I received the answers to all my questions and felt the spirit strongly many times as I prayed to know if it was true. The young missionaries touched my life and I have often thanked the Lord for their sacrifice. Just yesterday our middle child Derek left on his 2 year mission for the church. I am so pleased and thankful for his faithfulness and willingness to serve the Lord and share with others the gospel. I look forward to his letters and the experiences he will have in McAllen, Texas Spanish speaking meeting and helping so many people.

How I live my faith

I belong to a wonderful Women's organization at our church where I have opportunities to serve and help other Women and their families. I have a calling at church to visit a few sisters each month and also to help keep records for a group of others sisters who visit one another. It is a great program to make new friends and lift one another's burdens. Sometimes a friendly visit, phone call, going to lunch or for a walk or taking them diner when they are having a stressful difficult time in their life are some of the ways this organization has blessed my life and helped me with ways to help other Women I may have never known. I also love missionary work. With my conversion story I shared earlier I have passion for helping others who are looking for answers to guide them and help them on their journey to finding the truths and beliefs the Mormon church has to give them. Much of what I do to keep the spirit strong in my own life and in our home is that I personally read my scriptures every day. We have a family prayer once a day. Once a week we have family time that varies from activities indoor or outdoors with a spiritual message. I have a favorite gospel singer Hillary Weeks who I listen to her cd in my car when I want to find peace. The Denver Temple is right in Littleton and is a great place to find peace, guidance and the spirit. If you are not a member of the church or do not have a current recommend to enter the Temple take a blanket and sit on the grass outside the Temple by yourself or with family or friends and feel the peace and joy that is there. There is a visitors center next door where you can go and get more information. I know the church is true, that we have a living Prophet on the earth today called of God. I know Jesus is the Christ and he lives, the Book of Mormon is the word of God, I am a daughter of God, Families are eternal. I will forever be grateful that I am a Mormon. I am blessed beyond measure. Amen.
