Hi I'm Bonnie

I'm a mother of three and two of my children have Type I diabetes, as well as myself. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to community college and recieved my AA in Liberal Arts then transferred to BYU and minored in Special Education and majored in History Teaching. I taught Special Education for five years and then stopped teaching to raise our family. I was diagonsed with Type I diabetes after the birth of our first child and then our oldest son was diagnosed at 3 years and our daughter was diagnosed at 4 years. Besides coping with this disease our family has been blessed with, we travel to Europe to visit my husband's family every other summer, we love going to San Diego to enjoy the cooler weather and the ocean, we love going to the movies and going to the park, swimming in our pool, reading and taking the kids on small outings.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that practiced living the gospel every day. We had family prayer, family scripture study, family home evening, individual blessings given, we were at church every Sunday, on their bedroom floor for General Conference and my parents were always teaching us gospel principles throughout the days, weeks and months. As a child I was a sponge, I took in everything my parents taught me and took it into my soul. I did make plenty of mistakes but I was taught what the atonement can do for our lives and I applied it to mine. I know this church is the only true church upon this earth. It is the Lord's church, guided by our amazing and wonderful prophet. I know we all have our trials, some are more apparent than others but without my testimony and faith in the Lord, it would be hard to make it through this time we have on earth. I am so grateful for this gospel and all of it's righteous teachings.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what my parents taught me. We have family prayer, family scripture study, family home evening, we attend our Sunday church services, we serve our neighbors, and we fulfill our callings to the best of our ability. I am the Primary President, I work with all the children from 18 months to 11 years in our church. These children are so wonderful to work with, so eager to learn and share what they have learned with you. They love the Lord and His gospel. We sing songs, teach gospel principles in simpler terms and have special visiters come and speak to the children. We put on a Primary Program for the church once a year and prepare the entire year to do so. It is such a wonderful experience to be able to be with the primary children, to teach them and learn from them.
