Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a mother of five. I live in Washington state. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mom who loves life! I love learning about the world around me. My hobbies include gardening and woodcarving. I recently became a licensed massage therapist. I come from a long line of Mormon pioneers on my mother's side. One of my great great grandfathers was the first to cross the Missouri river when the Saints were forced to leave Nauvoo. My father joined the Church in his 30's and soon after met my mother. Together they raised seven children. I spent most of my growing up years in northern Idaho. While I was still in high school, my father donated the land where a church building now stands. He and my mother are wonderful examples of how to live the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents set a good example for me to follow. As I grew I knew I had to know for myself why I was keeping the commandments. It wasn't hard, though, because I had a knowledge deep inside that was solid. I always knew I would not feel good inside if I did something I knew was wrong. I learned early on, that feeling good inside, was the most important thing. This made it easier to do what was right. From this foundation I have been able to resist temptation. It has sustained me through deaths and illnesses of family members. I am a Mormon because I've learned its the best way to be happy. I have learned in small steps that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Following my Savior will bring me true and lasting happiness.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I teach nine and ten year old boys and girls how to follow Jesus Christ. My favorite part is when we all stand and say, "I am a child of God. I know Heavenly Father loves me and I love him. I can pray to Heavenly Father anytime, anywhere. I am trying to remember and follow Jesus Christ." I love these children! They bring so much light into my life. I try to think about them during the week so that when I teach I can be a source of help, someone they can trust. I have also been assigned to visit two other women once each month to share a message of hope and love. I share my testimony or help in whatever way is needed. Cleaning house, sharing talents, or just talking. I have grown to love these women as we share life experiences and help and support one another in friendship. I like to get to know my neighbors better by sharing baked goods, eggs from my 9 hens, or bounty from my garden. I enjoy helping others and look forward to community service days.
