Hi I'm Maren

I'm a Mormon mother of 4 boys. Plus I've got another guy to take care of. He's known as "Dad" around our house. I love them all!

About Me

I was born into a wonderful family who raised me in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm the only girl out of the 5 kids in my family and I'm lucky to say that I have a great relationship with all my brothers. After graduating from high school I attended college where I studied Commercial Baking. Though I no longer work in that industry, I still find regular use for the skills I acquired there. My husband and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple and since then we've added four precious little boys to our family. I've had the wonderful blessing of being a stay at home mom for the past 9 years. I enjoy sewing and crafting. I also play the piano and have had the opportunity to share my knowledge by teaching piano lessons to some talented young people.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I still had a desire to gain a knowledge of my own about the truthfulness of the gospel. When I was 11 years old, I resolved to read the Book of Mormon on my own. I was 12 before I finally finished it, but when I did, I prayed to know if it was true. I had an overwhelming feeling that the people who I had read about, Lehi, Nephi, Alma and others were REAL people who ACTUALLY lived. They were not simply characters in the book. I understood that if they were real, then their stories were real as well. I could not deny the accounts given in the Book of Mormon were true, and thus all the doctrine taught was also true. I knew that Joseph Smith had indeed translated their records by divine assistance. I have since had many other experiences that have added to my testimony, but this will always remain cemented in my mind and heart. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and he hears and answers my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that this is His restored church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I have had opportunities to serve since I was a child. Those opportunities have only increased as I have aged. I've loved working with the children of the church as a teacher and as a pianist. I've also had the opportunity to be a leader among the adult women of the church and with the youth. I particularly enjoy working with young people because I believe they need careful guidance in the difficult time in which we live. Plus, they are super fun! It's important to me, as a mother, for my children to see me giving my time and talents to help others. I hope that they can follow my example and learn to love service.
