Hi I'm Christie

I am from the Seattle area. My husband and I have 5 wonderful adopted children of various ethnic backgrounds and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 5 wonderful adopted children of various ethnic backgrounds. My husband and I were blessed to have children that are Caucasian, El Salvadorian, Mexican and African American. Many times I will have individuals share with me how fortunate our children are to have us, I stop them and with a smile kindly say "no we are the fortunate ones". Several years ago after my youngest child entered into High School I made the decision to start a career that I could develop slowly and then work full time at after graduation. I chose to be a Real Estate Broker, and have loved every minute of it. I love helping people! I have found that my career is ideal in being able to help those I know and those that I meet. It has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful individuals that I would not have otherwise met. My clients become my cherished friends. My husband and I have a sailboat and enjoy boating around our area. Some of our favorite destinations are in the Pacific Northwest . We have several boating friends that travel together on our various destinations, we call ourselves the Liahona Yact Club. We have a blast creating great memories as we explore the God's creations. I have recently become interested in quilting. What a joy it is to make the quilts and then surprise loved ones giving them as a gift. You know I truly am blessed, life is good not perfect by a long shot, but good. I am a mom, Real Estate Agent, Wife, Friend, and a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

more about the church and my testimony of my Savior increased immensely. I grew to understand the atonement and how it plays a part in my life. I learned that families can be together forever with our Father in Heavens Plan. I knew why I was here and where I wanted to go after this life. I recognized what my part and responsibility was in this life. I realized that if I would do my best to be obedient, serve and love others as the Savior did, and make sacred covenants with him, I would have the ability to have the gift of the Holy Ghost with me. With this gift I would have the ability to guided and directed in all I do in righteousness. I knew that through this gift I would be protected and have the ability to overcome temptations of the adversary. Through much effort I gained a personal witness that we have a prophet that lives on the earth today that leads and guides us. I know the Savior will return to this earth once again, and the only way I will know him is if I learn of him.

How I live my faith

Every week I get the privilege of teaching the 16-18 year old girls at church and I love it. It is so exciting to see these beautiful girls strive to uphold personal and moral standards that set them apart from the crazy world we live in. Another way I serve is by helping LDS Family Services, this is an organization that provides counseling service to those members in need. LDSFS also provides Birthmother services, adoption services, addiction recovery program and a family support program for families with love ones struggling with addiction. I find this calling to be very rewarding as I see individuals lives changing for the better as they strive to cope in life. Each month I am fortunate to visit 3 different women in our Branch, this is called Visit Teaching. What visit teaching is, is an opportunity to get to know these wonderful women one on one. I get to hear of their families, their joy, their struggles, and their needs. I am there for them when they need help of any kind 24X7. They truly become as my sisters. I can't imagine my life without serving others. I find when I serve I truly forget myself and my problems. I find a special peace inside myself that can only be explained as true Joy and Love! I am so grateful for all the many blessings I have, I know my Father in Heaven loves me, I know my Savior atoned for me! And without his love and constant teachings I can return home with my family someday. I try to live a Christ like life daily, it's not always easy and many days I fall short. Every day brings a new beginning with a fresh start.
