Hi I'm Katie

I am from Arizona, I am a mother to 3 boys, one toddler and two newborn twins. I am a nurse, with a love for crafts and running.

About Me

I just finished my Bachelor Degree of Science in Nursing. I have been a pediatric nurse for three years working with disabled children, hospice children, and children with heart and lung defects. I decided to further my education a year ago, and hope to continue education online for a master's degree in nursing. I would love to teach nursing school one day. I am a mother to three boys, two of which are identical twins. Life is busy and it can be hard to keep up day to day. I run a side business of vinyl lettering and interior decor, I love crafts and projects, I feel they keep my creativity amongst my motherly duties. I also enjoy running, I run now for exercise but competed as a sprinter in college. I gained life lessons as a college athlete learning how to keep going when things get tough. I am married and love my husband very much!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I believe the Church is true. I believe in God, Jesus Christ, heaven, and life after death. I believe that families are eternal, and that we can be with our families forever. I have taken care of children who face health challenges in life, and even death. I have held children in my arms as they passed away. Some of these children have been loved by parents and family members and showered with tears and kisses as they have passed. Some of these children have been wrongly abused and died because of poor decisions their parents have made. I have felt peace in the saddest situations while holding babies pass when there was no one else present but me, their nurse to rock them in the face of death. This is the reason I am Mormon, because i believe there is life after death, and that these children are in a better place. I have felt God's presence welcoming sweet children to the other side. I am Mormon because I want to be with my sweet children and husband forever, and the church offers this to families who are sealed in temples. I am Mormon because I want my children to be good people, to be good spouses, to help others throughout their life time, and be good future parents. The church teaches life principles and gives us guidelines and standards that make me happy, and make me a better person. I want my children to be happy and be inspired to be better people also. This is why I am Mormon, because the Mormon church makes me a happy person, and constantly helps me to improve myself personally on all levels spiritually, mentally and physically.

How I live my faith

I participate in my community by being involved and active in the community. I participate in community service events such as buddy walks for Down Syndrome children, and March of Dimes for premature babies. In my ward I help supervise women visiting each other on a monthly basis to create strong relationships and friendships amongst women in our church. The purpose of monthly visits are to ensure that each women is able to meet her individual needs, and if she needs help church members are contacted to help meet the woman's and/or her families needs. Monthly visits also create lasting friendships in our church and help every women feel her purpose and importance in this World.
