Hi I'm Emily

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend of 10 years and together we have 5 young children. I enjoy running whenever I can squeeze it in, getting lost in a book, playing a competitive game of volleyball, or boardgames galore. I graduated with a BS in Child Development and a dream of going to Pharmacy School. My dream has been put on hold for now while I dedicate all my time to spending time with my family and teaching my children life lessons and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by wonderful parents who taught me about Jesus Christ from a young age through word, the Bible, the Book of Mormon and through their examples. The Holy Ghost was in our home because my parents made sure we had family home evening each week, read the scriptures each morning as a family, attended our weekly Sabbath meetings and prayed as a family. I was baptized by my father a member of the church at the age of a 8 and my testimony continued to grow as I prayed to Heavenly Father daily, read my scriptures, and received answers through the Holy Ghost. As a youth I realized that I had a testimony for myself and no longer leaned on my parents beliefs when I made choices between good and bad. Before graduating from college I served a mission for the church in Barcelona Spain and was able to attend the dedication of the Madrid Spain Temple. Experiences such as these help me realize that the gospel is true and that my Heavenly Father really does love me and all of us. I know Jesus Christ lives and atoned for us, I know Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and was called to be the first prophet in this era, and that we have a latter day prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. Knowing this has given me a clear perspective on what is really important, peace in this life and true happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by teaching my own young children the way my parents taught me: family home evening, family prayer, attending church meetings each Sunday and trying to be Christlike in all my relations. I enjoy visiting teaching because it allows me to branch out and meet and help others. I am serving as a ward missionary in my ward right now and have enjoyed working with the youth and women in the past. I try to live each day like Jesus Christ is right by my side. I try to act as he would have me and to be the person he would have me become.
