Hi I'm Mark

I am a husband and Father of 3 kids. I am a Software Engineer in the Defense Industry. I live in Denver, CO. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have an appetite for classic novels. Currently I am reading Sherlock Homes. One of my favorite classics is Les Miserable by Victor Hugo. Good, high quality books are not only enjoyable to read but I believe they have helped my perspective of the world to grow. I have heard it said that "we are the sum of all our experiences". What better way to add another good experience in life than by reading a good book. I also have an appetite to learn new things. This is the biggest reason for furthering my education with a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. I love learning about the world and how things work. I enjoy working on our home with my wife. It gives me great sanctification to be able to repair, replace or improve our home without the aid of a professional. To be able to be self-reliant as much as possible. I love cooking and I am always trying out new ingredients in order to improve my recipes. Someday, I want to take professional culinary classes and learn how to make gourmet food for my family. There is nothing better than a high quality, fresh tasting meal.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was eight years old. I have been taught by good parents who raised me in the gospel of Jesus Christ. At a very young age, I gained a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the only true church on the earth. That, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God called by him to restore his true church again on the earth. That, the Book of Mormon is the word of God translated by Joseph Smith. That, we are led today by a living prophet call Thomas S. Monson. I gained my testimony by living the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the modern day Prophets. In John 7:17 it reads "If any man shall do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself". My testimony continues to grow as I strive each day to live Christ's teachings through the current Prophet Pres. Thomas S. Monson and modern day scripture.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by just being me. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is so ingrained into who I am. I am different from the rest of my coworkers and neighbors. I don't swear, drink, smoke, or talk profanity. I am a family man with two kids and one more on the way. For my age, to be married with as many kids we have and want to have is a rarity. We give more than 10 percent of our income to the Lord in the form of tithing and fast offerings. In contrast the world would teach us to not get married and live for yourself. It is hard not to stand out in world when I am so different from most people and morals are declining at a rapid pace. Christ said in Matthew 5:14-16: "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." True followers of Christ should stand out from the rest of the world. There life should shine forth his light and love.
