Hi I'm Jake!

I'm an son, brother, uncle, and a missionary in the Colorado Denver South Mission!

About Me

I love my family and friends. I also like to sing, play the piano, and watch good movies! After graduating from high school in May 2013, I began my service as a missionary in north-western Colorado (the Colorado Denver South Mission), where I will be serving for two years. I'm so excited for this great opportunity!

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and of His everlasting atonement. I have studied the scriptures and prayed to my Father in Heaven to ask whether or not they are true. I know that they are true. I am a Mormon because I have prayed and received a confirmation that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that Jesus Christ restored His true Church through Joseph Smith. I love my family and friends who support me, and I am grateful for living prophets and apostles who lead and guide the Kingdom of God on the earth today. I continually thank my Father in Heaven for my testimony and all of the blessings he has given me. He knows me and strengthens me through trials. I love Him and His Son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Before becoming a missionary, I loved spending time with the youth in my ward. It is awesome to have so many other people my age who strive to uphold righteous morals and principles. I also loved to visit other families in the ward with my home teaching companion, my dad. Now that I am a missionary, I do my best to serve the people of Colorado every day! I strive daily to improve and strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ and His church. I study from the scriptures and pray daily. I do my very best to live gospel standards, even when no one is watching, because I know this church is true.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is knowledge gained through the Holy Ghost, who reveals knowledge usually through peaceful and personal feelings. Testimonies can be about the truthfulness of the church in general, or more specific, such as the reality of the president of the church being called as a prophet of God, the restoration of the church through the prophet Joseph Smith, or tithing. A testimony is usually gained through contemplation and prayer, and often comes gradually. If you want to receive a testimony about any subject, you can ponder it and ask your Heavenly Father, who knows all things, whether or not it is true. Through faith and diligence, anyone can gain a testimony. Show more Show less
