Hi I'm Cory

I grew up in San Antonio where most of my friends were not Mormon yet knew I was and the values that I lived by.

About Me

After high school and a year of college I served a mission for the church in Argentina. Upon returning I met my soul mate and we have since been blessed with two beautiful girls. When I'm not spending time with them I love to play inline hockey, basketball, and ride motorcycles. I love spending time at the gym and swimming with my daughters.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints means so much to me personally. I have been through many trials in life that I feel would have been much more difficult without the gospel. It has given me the understanding of who I am and the purpose of life. Life is not easy but as I've learned to strengthen my relationship with Heavenly Father, I've found happiness during these difficult times. I know that God lives and knows each one of His children on a very personal level. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to provide us a path back to Him. I know that he has restored his gospel in the latter days through a prophet Joseph Smith. Through this prophet, God has given us a companion to the Bible, another testament of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father as to it's validity and truthfulness and know it along with the Bible to be the word of God. My hope is that everyone can read it, pray about it, and know for themselves of it's truthfulness so that they can enjoy the same blessings it has brought to my life.

How I live my faith

I serve in the community and church ward as a cub scout leader. Although not directly related to spiritual teaching, this calling has given me the opportunity to teach boys about life skills and prepare them for manhood. I have also served as a ward missionary to assist the local full time Mormon missionaries in their efforts to teach the gospel to others. I loved serving as a missionary for two years in Argentina as a young man, and working with my friends and neighbors here provides me with this same joy I experienced in Argentina. I am also assigned two wonderful families in our church ward to care for and visit on a regular basis to bring spiritual messages into their home. We call this home teaching and believe it is an important part of fellowship among members of Christ's church.
