Hi I'm Cami

I teach junior high school choir. I am a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music is a huge part of my life. I teach voice and piano lessons. I teach junior high choir and accompany other local choirs on the piano. I love being a mom and wife. It can be hard to juggle work and family life, but with the help of the Lord, I have found a good balance. I have found that when I pray and read the scriptures, I am filled with peace and the ability to somehow do what is expected of me.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me that the things I learn there are true. There is no other place where I have felt more at peace. When I have knelt in prayer asking if the church is true, an overwhelming feeling of love and affirmation came over me. I know that God hears our prayers and I feel His love daily. For me, the Spirit touches my heart and testifies of gospel truths through music. When I hear songs that bear testimony of Jesus Christ, something comes alive in me, like I've always known Jesus to be our Savior, even before my birth. It is often through music that my testimony of Jesus Christ grows and I cannot deny what I feel. Jesus is our Savior. There have been times in my life where I wondered if He was real and if He could even hear my prayers. Then almost as soon as those thoughts entered my mind, a peaceful calm came over me and I could almost feel my Savior by my side teaching me that He is very real and He DOES hear me.

How I live my faith

It is interesting to be a school teacher and be a mormon. My students sometimes notice that I'm different in the way that I don't drink coffee or tea. I wear modest clothing. I don't use crude language. Each day I think about being "in the world, but not of the world". While we still must live in a world that doesn't always have the same values as I do, it is important that I let my testimony show. In the church, I work with 12-13 year olds. They are faced with many temptations in these days. I teach them that as they make righteous choices they will be blessed beyond comprehension. I know the Lord is aware of the youth today and the tough fight they have. But I also know that He has given them tools to get through these hard times. Youth that read their scriptures, pray, attend church meetings, cultivate loving releationships with their family and try to live the commandments will find that without a doubt, they are being blessed. I have found my life to be extremely blessed by doing those same things.
