Hi I'm Michelle

I live in Arizona. I am a wife and a mother. I am a cancer survivor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of a wonderful husband and I am a mother of 3 amazing children; 2 sons and a daughter. They are all adults starting their own lives. My oldest son and daughter are attending college and my middle son will soon return from his 2 year church mission teaching others in the Idaho Boise Mission about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and about what it means to be a Mormon. I enjoy music, especially singing in choirs. My 2 college students are music majors, so I get to enjoy their beautiful music as well. I love volunteering at church and in the community. I spent 16 years volunteering in my children's schools in the PTA and Booster organizations. I enjoy travelling and my job working for a major airline makes that a lot easier. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes I only wish I had more time to spend in the kitchen.

Why I am a Mormon

My family and my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints are the 2 most important things in my life. I do not know what my life would be like if either of these were missing. I was born and raised in the church, but have gained a testimony of my own that this is God's true church on the earth today. I was raised by 2 wonderful parents who taught me the gospel and the values that I have in my life. When I left home to attend college at BYU I learned that I could not rely on the testimony of my parents but had to gain one of my own. While reading the Book of Mormon for one of my freshman year classes I gained a stronger testimony of my own that this was another testament of Jesus Christ and what I was taught by my parents and what I was learning was true. Since that time it has not been easy to always do the things that I know that I should, but it has not been hard to know what I should do thanks to my understanding of the truths that I have been taught. I love the feeling that I get when I am following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ taught us by example to love one another and he set the example for us on how we should live. He spent all of his life teaching and serving the people around him. I strive to follow his example and love those around me and want help them find the truth that I have found. As a mother I have hoped that I have been an example to my children so that they too can gain their own testimony. A favorite scripture of mine is from 3 John 1:4 it reads "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." I have had many different opportunities to serve in my church callings. I have worked with the young children, the youth and currently I work with the women. Being a part of the largest women's organization in the world is a great privilege and opportunity. I learn from the testimonies of the women and from their examples. I have had many challenges in my life, but it has been my faith that has helped me through these tough times. One of my most difficult times was my breast cancer diagnosis. Without the support of my family, friends, and my understanding of my purpose here on earth this trial would have been a lot harder. My faith in Jesus Christ and my knowledge that he is our loving older brother gave me strength during this hard time. I am thankful for my knowledge of our Heavenly Father's plan for us and that I know we each have a purpose here on this earth and this is our testing period before we return to live with Him again.
