Hi I'm Chriss

I 'm a farmers' wife and a mother of 8 grown-up children with 14 grandchildren all living near. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy wife, mother and grandmother. We have a wonderful life on the farm; and, living in a small community has always been a great opportunity for me and my family. I graduated from college with a degree in Child and Family Studies. I have tried to be involved in our community, on the school board, various committees, helping at school, and following the local sports teams. It is a challenge to balance all that is happening and try to keep worthy priorities first. I am grateful for my many blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in 1979 after the birth of my second child. I was raised Methodist and my mother was very active in the church, I also was raised with many negative feelings about Mormons. I never wanted to be one, I was especially put off by the claim that it was the true church on earth today. I had an experience that made me know that the church was true, so as soon as I could I got in touch with some missonaries and told them I wanted to get baptized, of course they were excited and they had to teach me some lessons, I had them hurry through them and it was a wonderful experience. As they were teaching me it seemed like I was recalling things I already knew. My decision to join the church became more sure to me and I loved everything I was learning. Thirty-two years later I still am excited at everything I am learning and how the more I learn the more things fit together in perfect harmony. I love Heavenly Father's plan; I love that I know His plan; I love the principles that the gospel teach me and the ordinances that make it possible for me to make and keep sacred covanents so the atonement of Jesus Christ will work in my life, so I can return to live with Him and my Heavenly Father and my wonderful family. This is my testimony and it fills me with joy. It really is the true Church.

How I live my faith

The organization of the church is another reason I know it is true. It truly gives me an opportunity to grow and become better by calling me to serve in various ares; such as teaching the youth, or organizing events, even speaking in front of a group; I have to stretch and grow. It also offers many opportunities to serve the members of the church, serve the community and the world through it's various programs such a fast offerings, humanitarian aid and visiting teaching. Attending meetings gives me perspective that helps me keep my life in balance, strenthens my testimony in my Savior, Jesus Christ and teaches me how important my family is and family relationships and also to love my neighbor. This does take time but to me it seems like these are the things I should be doing with my time if I want to becoming more like Jesus.
