Hi I'm Eric

Rain or shine, I love the great outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Outside of work, being a husband and dad is where most of my "free time" gets spent. Birthday parties, hikes, bike rides, youth soccer, going to church on Sunday with my family, homework help, or telling bedtime stories. Never a dull moment!

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager, I decided to make a serious personal study of the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon. I experimented with prayer and meditation on ideas that stood out to me as being pure and true and could apply to me. These truths brought undeniable peace, serenity, and happiness into my life. When I left home and went off to college I was able to feel a closeness to my Heavenly Father and it continued to grow stronger through calm prayer and reflection. I prepared to serve a full time mission so I could help others follow the example of Jesus Christ, repent, and be baptised as well. I spent the next two years on the Lord's errand. I was able to see so much light and happiness enter into the lives of those who also joined the church, many times including whole families. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life to be a part of that.

How I live my faith

I've recently started to participate in our ward's youth program as an adult leader in the Scouting program. I see it as a great opportunity to spend more time with my sons and their friends as they practice their outdoor skills, leadership, goal-setting, service to others, etc.
