Hi I'm Sarah

I am a mom of four girls. My husband is a dentist. I love the outdoors, and love to play violin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom. I love to be able to be at home to raise my daughters. I grew up in the midwest and left home for college after high school. I met my husband in college and have been married for eleven years. We have been through a lot together. My husband is a dentist and enjoys his profession. Being the wife of someone who owns a business is at times tough because of the work and time it requires, but the Lord blesses me to have faith and patience to support him in his profession. I love playing the piano and violin. I started piano in middle school and have enjoyed playing ever since. The second year of my marriage I started as an adult learning the violin. Over the years I have taken lessons here and there and really enjoy playing. Every week I meet with a group of ladies and we practice strings together. We all have families that allow us to take a little time each week to play and learn from each other. I love to go on hikes with my family and biking trips. I enjoy making friends with those around me. I love to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all my life. My parents joined the church before I was born. My dad learned about the gospel from a school proffesor. My parents had my older brother and were newly married when they found the gospel. My parents will always talk about how the gospel of Jesus Christ changed their lives. Now that I have my own family I see how the gospel helps our family to feel peace too. As a young girl I can still remember feeling peace when I was at church. Especially in sacrament meeting when the hymns were being sung. The reason I am a Mormon is because the spirit has testified to me over the years that this is the true church. I know that living how our Father in Heaven wants us to is part of the plan for his children to be happy. Living the standards that are revealed to prophets of God help me to avoid things that would make my life hard and unhappy. I can feel peace when am living a clean life. I know that the gospel can bring me closer to our Father in heaven. He does want me to return to him and know being a part of his church helps me to do that.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve in my church in the youth programs as a leader and teacher. Over the years I have taught sunday school to the youth, I have been involved in activities that are planned to build faith and teach them how to be the best they can be. The church provides programs for the youth at the very early age of 18 months. I have taught many different ages about our savior and I love that where ever I have lived and the class that I have been called on to teach will be taught out of the very same manual appropriate for the ageof the kids I am teaching. So if I were to teach a class in one state and move to another state and be asked to teach they will be studying the same doctine of Christ. Same for the adult classes that are taught. They are from the same adult sunday school manual. Right now were I attend I am playing the piano for the kids during their singing time. Every year they practice songs for a program to be presented in church in front of all the members. I can feel the spirit of our Father in Heaven as they are practicing to sing these songs. This year the theme for the songs are "I know the scriptures are true". In our church the women are asked to visit other women members once a month and to share an uplifting message and try to help one another. This is called visiting teaching. We are assigned a partner to go visit with and given some names of sisters to visit, serve, and uplift. Every place I have lived I have enjoyed being a visiting teacher and being able to get to know the women through this way. I have enjoyed being visited too. The church of Jesus Christ teaches me how important it is to serve others whether it be in our own churches or our community. There have been many activities planned to help give me and my family a way to serve others.
