Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired, living with my wife and enjoying life. We have two sons, both married. We have 3 grandchildren and one on the way. I was a software engineer for a major computer hardware and services firm for almost 40 years, so I enjoy maintaining and working on my home computer. I also find joy giving service to family, to church, and to the community. Singing brings me a lot of satisfaction and joy, so I have done it in school and church choirs, in quartets, solo and with my guitar near a glowing campfire. Speaking with people I meet from time to time from Germany helps me keep up with the language I learned as a missionary many years ago. Spending time in the outdoors regularly brings balance to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

One of the reasons I became an active Mormon was the influence of several close friends during my teenage years. They set an example of the blessings to be received by following a life of faith in Jesus Christ which I have tried to follow. I have remained active in the Mormon faith through the message of the Book of Mormon. It teaches me that a person can draw close to God through humble prayer and willingness to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I have found that when I pray sincerely, humbly and ernestly in the name of Jesus Christ and am willing to do as the spirit prompts I have been given to know the love which a Heavenly Father has for his children, and particularly for me, and that He wants me to be a faithful Latter-day Saint.

How I live my faith

Jesus taught that we should each take up our cross daily and follow him, so I read from gospel teachings each day and look for opportunities to serve Him which brings an increase of joy in life and faith in and love for God.
