Hi I'm Rick

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, a father, a grandfather and a retired fire fighter. I love everything that has to do with family. We water ski, snow ski, camp, ride atv's, play sports. Tball games, flag football etc I also love photography. Capturing that special moment, is awsome!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 19. I was very active in the Baptist church. Most of my high school friends were LDS. I had a pretty good understanding of the bible, but when my LDS friends shared their testimony, I felt like I was missing something. At the time, my faith was based on acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and I was SAVED! That was awesome, but what else? It was the "What Else" that was getting me. Who am I? Why am I here? What happens when I die? I began to wonder what does it really mean to be SAVED? There had to be more. My best friend in high school was getting ready to leave on his mission. We started having some great discussions about the church, and why he would give up two years of his life serving the Lord. We took the missionary discussions together. We prayed, alot. We received answers. My best friend baptized me a month before he left on his mission. Now that was awesome! I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in its original form here on the earth, I know the plan of salvation, I know that my Heavenly Father knows and cares about me personally. He hears and answers my prayers. I am grateful of the sacrifice of my elder brother Jesus Christ, that he died for me on the cross. So that I may have the opportunity to return to my father in heaven one day. I strive each day to live a Christ centered life, because I know it makes me a better person. I know that we have a living prophet here on earth today. He leads and guides his church by divine guidance from our Heavenly Father. This I truly know.

How I live my faith

I am currently teaching a gospel doctrine class in my ward, and my wife and I currently serve in the temple. It has been the greatest calling I have ever had. Serving the Lord in his house is very very awesome!
