Hi I'm Lindsey

I studied elementary education and Spanish. I run half marathons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up playing sports and loving school. I played varsity volleyball and ran track in High School. After High School I decided to stay in shape and continue challenging myself by signing up for a full marathon. Since then I have used running as my way to unwind and take care of my body and mind and continue to run half marathons and practice yoga. To carry on my love of school I decided to become an elementary school teacher. I just recently finished up my degree and haven't been able to find a full time teaching job but in the meantime I am working as a substitute teacher for the local school districts. My husband and I have been married for two years and we enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, and running together. I would still consider us newlyweds and love this phase of our lives and being able to spend time together and participate together in our mutual hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

When I am living the gospel the way I should I am happy even though life might be hard. The reason I stay happy through tough times is because I know that God is over all and that he will guide me if I stay close to Him. The way that I stay close to Him is through prayer and studying the words of the prophets both in the past and latter day prophets. I love reading the words of the latter day apostles and prophet that come out every six months after the church's general conference. I find that when I am seeking answers they are right there in front of me and offer me guidance. I know that Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and for that reason he sent His son Jesus Christ to live and be an example and die for us. I know that we have a modern day prophet to lead and guide us in our quest to return to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ with our families someday. The older I get the more I appreciate and love my family and want to be with them. I know that it is through the gospel of Jesus Christ that we can be with our families forever.

How I live my faith

Every morning I try and say my morning prayers. At night I pray with my husband and also say personal prayers. I read from the church magazine called the "Ensign" which contains talks by church members and leaders and scriptures. I go to church on Sundays. I visit other women of the church to see how they are doing and to get to know them better. This helps me feel part of a community and gives me a chance to serve and forget myself and my problems for a bit and focus on somebody else, just as Christ would do.
