Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a stay at home mom of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town with lots of good friends of different faiths. I have always loved to read and create things. I go through phases of quilting, scrapbooking, drawing, and general craft making. I feel like creating things makes me feel like I'm growing. I get to stay home with my four children. Our days are filled with piano, homework, chores, and lots of wild times. In the midst of all that chaos, we seem to find our moments of peace to enjoy each other as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. And I feel like each person gets to choose their faith at some point in their life - no matter how they were raised. I was a young adult when I decided it was time for me to know some things for myself. After a period of study, prayer, and meditation, I came to the conclusion that this gospel is what Heavenly Father wants for me. The years of peace since have confirmed to me on a daily basis that He still wants me to follow His gospel.

How I live my faith

I have gotten the opportunity to serve within the church in many callings. I have been an activities coordinator for single young adults - creating fun activities for them to get together. For awhile I taught the toddlers on Sunday as the singing teacher. I loved working with those happy little people! I have also served teaching teenage young women how to prepare for adulthood. I am now serving the women in our area. I work to prepare the women for the challenges that they will face - and are now facing. I have found that no matter the calling, I have found that each one creates abilities in me that weren't there before. And I know that Heavenly Father has directed my church leaders to call me to these positions. I have found that the timing of each of them could only have been divinely directed.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Kelly
Mormon women are just like other women in the world - we're just trying to get it all done before bed! I am so grateful to be part of a church that emphasizes the importance of men and women helping each other through life. I feel like I could be much more overwhelmed without a husband who is willing to fulfill his role as protector and provider so that I can stay at home with my children. Each day I can go to bed knowing that we worked as a team to meet the needs of each person in our family. Knowing that I have a role to fulfill makes my life easier! Show more Show less
