Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon. I love to learn things.

About Me

I like to explore new things. Sometimes this involves tearing them apart to see how they work. Luckily I found a job that pays me to do just that. When I'm not working, I'm probably playing with my kids, trying to get them to explore things with me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes sense. I have had that spiritual conversion where the conflict goes away, and I just know that it's true. I've spoken with people from many other religions, and the discussions always get very vague and ambiguous. I'm not saying that everything is concrete in the LDS faith, but it certainly seems to make a lot more sense than anything else out there.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by understanding that life on earth is a preparation for greater things to come. We are here to learn about our Savior. I want to align myself so that in every situation I do what Jesus would do. I want my character to be his character, and I want to see others as he sees them. I know I can never achieve that while on this earth, but I'd like to get as close as possible. As I get closer I like to think that I am a positive influence in the lives of other people. I may have this influence through being an example, or hopefully because I have taken the opportunity to help them directly. A lot depends on whether I'm in tune enough with the spirit to recognize those opportunities, and whether I'm humble enough to suspend what I may want to do in order to obey.
