Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Woodland, Utah, on a dairy farm/ranch. I now live in Gilbert, AZ.

About Me

My husband and I graduated on the same day from BYU. Our employment then took us to El Paso, TX, for 10 years, where three of our four children were born. We moved to AZ in the early 1980's. I am a retired elementary school teacher. I also taught private piano lessons for many years. Our children are all grown and living in the Gilbert, AZ area, fairly close by to us. We are enjoying being grandparents to our twelve grandchildren. I enjoy cooking, reading, going to lunch with fellow retirees from my school, volunteering at my grandchildren's schools, and traveling with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church with a very strong gospel-oriented family. My maternal grandfather was a mission president twice. My parents were very active in their callings in our ward and stake. However, one can only depend on their parent's testimonies for so long. I worked very hard to develop my own testimony of the church, the gospel, and of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I can't begin to tell people how many times I have seen the hand of the Lord in my life, guiding me and directing me. He has helped me and continues to help me through very difficult times in my life and in my children's lives. My faith in my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ is what keeps me going during these times. What a joy it is to know He is there for me whenever I need Him, as long as I am keeping His commandments and choosing the right. It is never easy, but it is certainly worth it. I bear you my testimony that His Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is the only true church here on the earth today. We have a living prophet who guides us and directs us according to modern-day revelation from Jesus Christ himself. I encourage any of you who are looking for the truth to seek out our missionaries or go to the church sites and find the help there that you will see. I bear this witness in the name of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

I have held many positions in the church during my lifetime. Much of it has been in Primary music. Primary is the organization for children ages 3-12.  I am currently the ward organist and it is a position I adore. I am a visiting teacher, as well. I have worked with the youth, ages 12-18. I was an elementary school teacher for 12 years, and by example I tried to teach values to many of the children who clearly had not been taught by their parents. It is something that I treasure to this day.
