Hi I'm Marissa

I am a 26 year old wife and mother to my little girl. I work a full time job and am a part time photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my husband in 2008. In 2010 we had our little girl. She is such a blessing from Heavenly Father and we are infinitely blessed to have been chosen as her parents! We definitely plan on having more. I have worked for doctors for 9 years and enjoy what I do. I would love, however, to be able to stay at home with my children one day. I started with photography as a hobby December 2010. I decided to start doing it professionally in March 2011. I do this on the side while I still work my full time job. It's hard to spend the extra time away from my family but I know it's an investment in our future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was first introduced to the Church by my husband who was a lifelong member. What really stood out to me was the doctrine of eternal marriage. That is such a beautiful thing to know that you can spend eternity with your family by making and keeping the covenants of the Temple. I sought out the missionaries and took the lessons. I was baptized the weekend after my husband and I were married. We were active for a few months. We went inactive at that point, thinking that we'd be happier living our lives the way we wanted. After a couple years of trying to do things on our own, we got so tired of bearing that burden alone. We recently have re-actitvated ourselves into the Church and have been so blessed since! It's amazing the peace and love that you feel when you are on the path that Heavenly Father intended. The people of the Church are so welcoming! We really feel that this is where we belong. We are currently working towards going to the Temple to be sealed together as a family for time and all eternity. It is so much easier to live the Gospel when we are praying and reading Scripture every day. I don't know how I made it so long ignoring the Spirit. It is such a wonderful thing to have that constant companionship and guidance.

How I live my faith

I have just recently started going back to Church and am trying to be as active in the Church as I can! There are monthly meetings for the women of the Church so we can fellowship and get to know each other. The lessons that we have in Church every week and a great way for us to grow stronger in our knowledge of the Gospel! My husband and I are taking the Temple prep classes, and will soon be able to be sealed together and with our daughter as an eternal family. We are so excited for this privilege!
