Hi I'm Kimbo!!

I have a pretty impressive Yoda impression. My favorite place to be is in my Utah mountains, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 3rd of six kids in my family. We some times joke that we are the Brady Bunch with 3 girls and 3 boys. I love my family! I love to be outside and esspecially up in my Utah mountains. There is something special about being up in the middle of God's creations. There is a perfect beauty and serenity that helps me feel closer to my Heavenly Father. I love adventure and trying new things. I believe that it is so important to keep learning and growing. I am going to school to become certified as a radiologist tech and hope to work with MRI's. I love to laugh and have joy in my life, and I know that the knowledge that I have come to learn through the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ helps to increase that joy everyday!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that this is what my Heavenly Father wants for me. I grew up in this church and think that I have always known that it is true, but at one point I needed to find that out for myself. My parents have always taught me the importance of prayer and it has been a big part of my life. I am so grateful for the opportunity to pray to my Heavenly Father and to know that he is listening to me. There was a point in my life when I wasn't sure what I what I wanted and what it was that I myself believed. So for a little while I stopped going to church. I stopped all of the things that I had been doing before that had brought me closer to Jesus Christ. After a while I realized how unhappy I was. My heart felt sick. I came to realize what it was in my life that I was missing. We have been given a great gift called agency. I could choose for myself what I wanted and what I was going to do and I realized that I wanted to choose to be happy. I took that to my Heavenly Father and one night poured out my heart to him. I told him how I was feeling so lost and unfocussed in my life and that I wanted to know what I needed to do to be happy. I have such an overwhelming sense of love and peace come into my heart. It is hard to explain in words. My whole body was filled with a warm feeling as if I was getting a hug from my Mom. At this point I knew that my Heavenly Father loved me. I had the tought that I knew what I needed to do. I had always know what would make me happy. I needed to follow the example and teaching of my Savior Jesus Christ. I returned to church and began to read in the scriptures, the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and praying and speaking with my Father in Heaven about what I need to do and what was true. Since that time I have grown even stronger in my testimony of the power of prayer and that we can choose to be happy and follow Jesus Christ's example.

How I live my faith

Now I love going to church. I find a lot of support and friendship there. I live my faith by attending church meetings every Sunday. I read the scriptures and try to apply the principles that are taught there. Right now I am also serving a mission in Minnesota to help other people have these same blessings of peace and purpose. I have taught little kids in primary and been involved in youth camps. I try to give the support that I find in the church.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Kimbo!!
A testimony is something that you know to be true. It is something that you have been able to learn is true through your thoughts and your feelings. In the church the first Sunday of every month is fast and testimony meeting where those who would like can go up and share what they know to be true. Show more Show less
