Hi I'm Nicki

I'm a Wife, Mother,former pro-cheer/dancer,current freelance make-up artist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello All, I am Nicki. I live in Arizona but I am originally from Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) I graduated from college with a Radio and Television Broadcasting degree, or simply put Communications degree. That is where I met my husband. I danced and cheered most of my life then in while cheering in college I took a leap of faith and tried out for a dance team in the Arena Football League. I made it! I danced for 5 years on various pro teams. I also still choreograph for high schools and colleges in the southwest. I love dancing/cheering and sports! Now that I am a retired dancer I'm a full time Mom. We have one child, our son .He is our pride and joy and we love him with all of our hearts! I work as a Make-up Artist and really enjoy making my clients feel beautiful. I also love animals, I have two furry children (my dogs) whom I love very much! I love my family and just having lazy weekends in the back yard grilling, swimming and enjoying the outdoors!

Why I am a Mormon

About 8 years ago I was different religion the one I had grown up in. While it was a good foundation for me I found myself still searching for many answers. I would ask but never get the full story or answer. I met a wonderful person while in college that had a light, sureness and happiness about him. We had many discussions about moral values and faith. We had so much in common! But he was Mormon, a return missionary! Yeah, I was taken back. Over the next year I studied and prayed for answers.I wanted to have that sureness and happiness. I would attend church with my Mormon friend here and there. Everytime I went I had an overwhelming feeling I was in the right place. One Sunday the missionaries gave me a DVD entitled The Restoration. I took it to be nice but didn't plan on watching it. A week later I attended church again, The missionaries wanted to know what I thought. Well that was a problem, I hadn't watched it. I told them I would bring it to them next Sunday with my thoughts. I went about my day and as dinner time approached I saw the DVD. It was calling my name, "Nicki", Watch me". I suppressed my feeling urging me to watch but it came back even stronger. So I stuck it in. The DVD was skipping. I took it out and flipped it over, it was scratched? Oh well I thought, no big deal, I guess I wasn't meant to watch it? I set it down and started to the couch. I had another overwhelming feeling "Try it again!". I turned around picked up the DVD and whipped it on my pants as if that was going to fix the scratches. I stuck it back into the DVD player and it began to play seamlessly. It came to a part where young boy asking Heavenly Father in prayer what he should believe then I started to cry, my body became warm and the light dimed around me. I knew that this was true. That this is where Heavenly Father wanted me. I started to pray, I got the assurance and happiness I had been searching for. I have been a member for 7 years now and as for my friend, I married him.

How I live my faith

I keep busy with the youth in our church and keep the parents informed of activities. We plan alot of fun things for them usually involving games, good food and strong moral messages. I teach the youth (girls 12-18) on Sundays and events through out the year. My husband and I also love going with the missionaries and sharing the gospel. I love to meet new people and connect with them as I know what it's like to be searching for the right place to be. This allows me to share my journey and let people know it's ok to ask questions, search for the truth. We also read the scriptures every night before bed and discuss the things the stuck out to us in each chapter.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, it's through his sacrifice and atonement that we can return and live with Heavenly Father where we are all his children. Show more Show less
