Hi I'm Doris

I'm a mother of three, I work in the restaurant business and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an energetic, outgoing person. I love to be around people, which is why I work in the restaurant business. I love to read and listen to music. My kids are what keep me young (but greying! ). I"m a little bit crazy, and that's okay! I volunteer whenever I can and it's one of the things that helps make me who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

When I lived in Michigan and would see the missionaries on their bikes, I thought that was the best place for them! When moving to Colorado, things changed. Growing up without any kind of religious background didn't really bother me too much, but when I had a young family, I wanted something more.....something stable. I had gone to several different churches, but they were just okay. Then my now ex-husband had the missionaries come over to our home. From the first time they were in our home there was something DIFFERENT about the feeling I had. The first time I went to church, there was such a feeling of "rightness" that I'm not really sure I even understood it. I had many questions, but each one seemed to be answered with something that touched my heart. I had questions about Joseph Smith...why would God use a 14yr old boy to bring His Church back to the earth? At the same time I knew that God would not just leave his people alone (after the olden day prophets were gone), and if he wanted to use a 14yr old to bring his church back, then that's exactly what he would do! We took the discussions in 6 weeks and were baptized. I have had many challenges since then, but becoming LDS was the best thing that I have ever done, and I know that to my very core.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. Some days I'm better at it than others, but I never give up trying. Faith is an action word and it can be a lot of work. It can be challenging, but so VERY rewarding. Life throws many challenges at us, and by living my faith, I know I can overcome anything the adversary throws at me. My callings at church and attending my weekly meetings always gives me strength when I think I don't have any. Heavenly Father is very kind, loving and patient....he wants us to succeed. My friends from church help me when I need it and I am there for them as well. Giving each other that support is one of the ways that I am able to live the principals of this gospel. FAITH IS AN ACTION WORD.......GO AND DO!
