Hi I'm Debbie

I'm a retired RN. I love to bike ride. I love playing the piano and singing and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired RN. I worked as an RN for 35 1/2 yrs. My favorite clinical areas to work were Labor and Delivery and the Nursery. Later in my career, I started working for the health insurance industry. I even tried my hand at playing and singing in a local band for a year. The saying "don't give up your day job" is true! So after a year and a half playing music I went back to the health insurance industry. Now I am a "stay-at-home" grandma and loving it! I can now enjoy the pursuit of some of my favorite interests such as travelling with my husband, playing with our grandkids, playing music, scrapbooking, photography, and reading. That's where I am now in my life. I don't know what would've happened had I not become a Mormon but I'm so happy with the choice I made.

Why I am a Mormon

When I graduated from high school and left for nursing school I had two pressing religious questions. Did I live before I was born on earth? Would Jesus re-establish His church on earth again? I found that His church had been re-established as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I also have come to know and believe that I lived before with my Heavenly Father as a child of God as all of mankind has. Thus, the phrase the "Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of Man" is really true.

How I live my faith

Over the years I have been a visiting teacher which is a program where we visit each adult, female member of our congregation every month. Through this program we are able to be aware of any needs that our women have or any special events that may be happening in their lives. I've also had the opportunity to teach adult classes which has helped my faith grow through study of the scriptures. Currently I have been called to play the organ for our Sacrament Meeting. I have really had to study and practice so that I can bring a feeling of reverence to our meeting before it begins. I've been blessed by my participation in the different assignments I've had throughout my years as a Mormon.
