Hi I'm Cole

I was born in Washington, I am currently serving in the Mexico City SE mission I love sports and my family.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Senior in High school and am looking forward to the opportunity to serve a mission next September. I love staying active by playing sports. I love hanging out with friends, listening to music, and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into this church. When I was younger I never understood why we went to Church nor did I have a knowledge that it was true. However, as I grew older I began to have a desire to find out for myself if this church was true. As I studied, prayed, and grew older the experiences I had shaped what my knowledge of the truth was. I came to know for myself that this is the true church and that all its doctrines are to true. I know that if you truly seek with a real desire and a willingness to act on what you find out you will be able to gain your own testimony through study of the Book of Mormon and prayer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by following the standards of the church, studying the gospel, and surrounding myself with friends and things that help me live the Gospel to its fullest. Every morning before school I attend Seminary to strengthen my testimony and get a spiritual boost each day. I attend mutual each week to hang out with friends and participate in wholesome activities. I take the opportunity to go on splits with the missionaries to share the gospel and prepare for a mission. Each Sunday I go to church to renew my baptismal covenants and to learn more about the gospel. I love living the standards of the church because it brings me much happiness.

Are Mormons Christians?

A Christian is defined as one who believes in Jesus Christ and follows his teachings. In the 2nd Book of Nephi in the Book of Mormon in the 25 Chapter 26th verse we read," And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." This verse clearly states that we do indeed believe in Jesus Christ and follow his teachings. The Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley said," We, of course, accept Jesus Christ as our Leader, our King, our Savior...the dominant figure in the history of the world, the only perfect Man who ever walked the earth, the living Son of the living God. He is our Savior and our Redeemer through whose atoning sacrifice has come the opportunity of eternal life." Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Joseph Smith has often been claimed to be the writer of the Book of Mormon; however, the Book of Mormon is a testimony of Christ's life which has been recorded by ancient prophets called by God. These prophets were special witnesses of our Heavenly Father's plan. They knew why we are here, where we are going, and what is to come. They received revelation for the people of His church. God continued to call prophets and still does this day. By reading the Book of Mormon we will learn of Heavenly Father's plan, our purpose on earth, about our brother Jesus Christ, and of his teachings. Reading the Book of Mormon and applying its teachings can and will bring you great joy in life. By praying about it you will know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ was the most heroic action ever. It began with Christ's suffering the Garden of Gethsemane and continued all the way up untill His ressurection. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ all man kind can be saved if they follow Him. During the Atonement Jesus Christ took upon the sins of the world. The Atonement enabled the ability for us to become forgiven of our sins. Without it we would not be able to return to live with our Families and Heavenly Father ever again. Becasue Christ was and will be the only man to live a perfect life He was the only one able to perform it. He had no debt to pay to the debts of Justic; thus, He was able to take upon all the sins of the world. Not only did he make it so we could return to live with our Heavenly Father again, but because he was able to overcome death and be ressurected on the 3rd day we too can be ressurected after the Second coming. In Alma 7:12 we learn that Christ also took upon the sins of the world so that He can know each of us and what we will go through in this life. Due to this great act of love we can all turn and follow Christ in order to recieve guidance and comfort from our worldly struggles . Show more Show less
