Hi I'm Mike

I am an aspiring writer. I love to read. I love my family more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I would have to say that my life is very exciting. I have a great family, my beautiful wife and two crazy little kids. I work full time, but my dream is to be a full time author. I love young adult literature and how fun it can be. I read a lot and my house is filled with books. I think reading and writing are so important and try to share that with my family, friends, and anyone I meet. I stay busy reading, writing, editing my friends' writing, and of course, being with my family, but I am very happy with my life. It is simple, but like I said, it is very exciting.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because as I go to church I feel closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I read the scriptures, The Bible and The Book of Mormon, and I know they are the word of God. I pray and I know God hears me. I don't think that I am the strongest person in the world, I have weaknesses and I get discouraged at times. I know that I can't make it through this life alone. The great thing about being a Mormon and trying everyday to choose the right, is that I know that Jesus Christ helps me and that he makes up for all of my weaknesses and lifts me up when I am down.

How I live my faith

At church I have an assignment to help with the missionary work. I think a lot about how I can share about my church with others in my everyday life. It would be sort of awkward to just to start talking about my church at work. I don't think my boss would like it if I started preaching in the middle of the bank I work at. Instead, I pray everyday that I can make a difference in someone's life. I try to be that smiling person on an otherwise gloomy day, I try to help others even if they can handle things on their own. I try to be a good example. When I write, I often think about how my words represent what I believe. I try to live my faith by being happy and doing good things. If people ask me why, I will gladly tell them.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

When I think of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I think of his unending service. From the beginning he has served selflessly. Before Jesus was born in Bethlehem he served us, during his mortal life he served, and now as the Resurrected Christ he continues to serve us and guide us through his prophets and his church. He did and does serve us because he loves us with a flawless and infinite love. So, how can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ? I say that we can do so by serving others and striving to love others as Christ loves. There are so many opportunities to serve and love. Some are so simple, like sharing a warm smile, or some take more time and effort. If we have our Savior in mind as we serve, we will draw closer to him. As we open our hearts and love others we will have more capacity, more room, in our hearts for our Savior's love. We will lose our selfish nature in serving others and understand our true potential as children of God. Our faith will grow in Christ as we do as he would do. Show more Show less
