Hi I'm Lowell

I'm a Mormon. I was born in the old fort at Pipe Spring National Monument. Lived in it for 3 years. It belonged to my Grandfather

About Me

I was born a fifth generation Mormon, on a national monument located on an Indian Reservation. Becsuse of this I think my folks started the placement program as we had Indian children living with us often while their parents were off working. My education for elementry school, the only one in my grade, was in a one room school that for many years served as the community center for school and church activities. Most of the time we lived at least three miles from our nearest neighbor so during the summer if we wanted to play with of see any friends we either walked six to eight miles, or went to church on Sunday with out any coaching. I was drafted into the service and served in Korea instead of serving a mission. Through the GI Bill i received my college education and spent my working life working on large water storage project and Irringation dilivery system. Met my wife while in college and we have five children, 26 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. We have and unofficial adopted family with four children, that is included as part of all our family activities.

Why I am a Mormon

As I stated earler I was born a fifth generation Mormon and gaind a testemony of the importhance and truthfullness of the Church by living its standards and wittnessing the lives of those around me and the exanple they set for the world. The teachings of the Church help me to go forward and live a good life knowing that by doing so I can be with my loved ones for now and for ever. With out this knowledge I am not sure I would have wanted to bring children into the world looking at the future with an eternal perspective. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints is the Gospel of the Living Christ, and by living its tenantes I can continue to enjoy life with my family for ever.

How I live my faith

I was given an incentive to live be active in the Church by not having neighbors near by as I was growing up. We went to Church together as a family, sometimes only to see friends. This set me on the path of attending each week. I have served in many positions through my life, mostly as adult and teenage leaders. I don't know of a time that was not active in some position of service, except while in the Army. I am currently serving as a Home Teacher and in the Nursery with the 18 month to two year age children and thourghly enjoy it.
