Hi I'm Dayne

I grew up in Utah, Illinois, and South Dakota. I now live in Colorado. I'm a software engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy computer professional, a husband to a wonderful wife of more than 20 years, and a father of 2 girls and 2 boys (the oldest is in college). I love to take time with my kids: walks to the park, soccer, music programs, etc. I am proud of the accomplishments of my children. I enjoy archery, target shooting, cycling, building web pages, and amateur physics. I love visiting with and getting to know my neighbors and helping anyone I can. I was born in Utah and have lived in California, Illinois, South Dakota, served a mission for the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern Virginia and West Virginia, and now Colorado. One of my favorite jobs through college was fighting wild-land fires on a Hotshot Fire crew.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. From the time I was young I have been taught by the example of parents, grandparents, and friends the love of a God, our Heavenly Father, and the joy of being in His service. There came a time I had to discover for my self that God loved us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to provide the only path to return to God. Because I love Christ and my Heavenly father I chose to follow their teachings as revealed in the Holy scriptures and through prophets in our day. I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus is the Son of God and I want to follow his example to serve my Heavenly Father and help other people.

How I live my faith

I love to study the gospel of Jesus Christ and teach it to my family and friends. We set aside one night a week, Monday night, to be together as a family to learn the gospel of Jesus Christ, play games, sing songs, or just talk about what we are doing. Our family is the center of everything we do. To watch over the needs of members in our area I am assigned families to visit regularly, help teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and help address personal and family needs. I am blessed to be able to use my experience and guidance from the Holy Spirit to help train other volunteer leaders, plan and organize area activities for the youth, and coordinate other area activities. When a rare tornado destroyed homes in our community everyone dropped what they were doing, sought out the welfare of Mormon members and our neighbors, then pitched in to clean up and rebuild the community. I love to serve people around me. The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints has provided me opportunities to serve others as a scout master, as an early morning youth seminary (bible-study) teacher, as an administrative coordinator, as a Sunday school teacher, as a local leader, as a financial manager, and as a technology specialist.
