Hi I'm Alicia

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happy stay at home mom (many thanks to my hard working husband) to an energy-filled, curious, and absolutely fun loving little boy. I was born in Mesa and have spent the majority of my life here. But I have also lived in Pinetop, Arizona for a few years as well as Katy, Texas for a while. I moved back to Mesa just over 2 years ago. I don't like to admit it but I am not a fan of the heat, but this is where the Lord wants my family to be so here we are and we have been very blessed for being obedient. I love you spend time reading, decorating, cooking, serving, watching just about any sport and occasionally playing. But most of all I love spending time with my family. We have so much fun together and I never get tired of the funny things my son says or does. Example for family night he chose the opening song to be the darth vader music from star wars. Since then his new favorite is Praise to the Man which he can be heard singing throughout the house mulitiple times a day! I love teaching my son about life and especially the Gospel. I love being able to answer all the questions a four year old can think of, even the tough ones like where we were before we came to earth, and why we are here? And the best part is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has these answers!

Why I am a Mormon

When faced with the many challenges of life, I have come to know through fervent prayer that I have a Heavenly Father who is aware me, my needs, and He loves ME. If I will just ask for guideance he will inspire me through the Holy Ghost which I was priviledged to receive after I was baptized. I know the Savior came to earth to set an example for each of us to follow, he atoned for my sins and I know he was resurrected. One day I will be resurrected and if I follow my Savior I will be able to return to the presence of my Father in Heaven. I have felt the Spirit testify that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel in it fulness to the earth. I believe Thomas Spencer Monson is a prophet of God, and also that the other members of the first presidency and quorum of the 12 Apostles are indeed prophets, seers and revelators. My testimony of this Gospel gives me the strength to endure all the trials that I have and will face in my life here on earth.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday, but to really be a disciple of Christ you live your faith always and everyday. In every choice you make it reflects who you are and what you believe. The best way I can live my faith everyday is to try to show by example. If I believe in being honest and I do,then what am I showing those around me if I tell the cashier that the price of those posterboeards were more than what she charged me. This experience happened to me a few months ago and even though it was only a few dollars difference the cashier and the customers around thanked me for being so honest. One thing I absolutely love about our church is that as a member you are given numerous oppertunities to serve others. Currently I help plan activities for the women in my ward, I like being able to see the women come and have a great time with each other. At these activites we deepen our friendships, build faith, work on our talents, strengthen our testimonies, learn of the Savior and his teachings and more often than not there is usually a yummy dessert involved somewhere in the night.
