Hi I'm Marzena

I speak Polish and Dutch. I grew up behind "the iron curtain". I am a wife and a mother of 3. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Ricks College with associate degree in Interior Design. I worked as an AutoCAD draftsman for several years. Now I am stay- at home mom and love every second of it. I currently live with my awesome husband and 3 wonderful kids in Arizona (so far away from my sweet family in Europe). I love MY FAMILY, nature, beaches in particular (what am I doing in AZ? :)). I love food and marvel every day at the vast variety of flavors, textures, colors and aromas of fruit, vegetables, grains, herbs... and...what can be done with them. God provided us with so many resources. I can’t be thankful enough. I love music, marine life and birds. I also love to: travel, read biographies, going to the movies, take pictures of nature, landscaping, and goof off with my kids. My other love is cars. I love old-timers, especially from the 60s and early 70s. I have black belt in karate. I laugh at slapstick humor. I just love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Poland during the communism. At age 16 I emigrated with my mother and sister to The Netherlands. There one day, the missionaries stopped my mother on the street and introduced her to the Book of Mormon and the restored church of Jesus Christ. My mother entered the waters of baptism 3 weeks after that. At first I thought she was crazy. But seeing the changes (in positive direction) in her life made me want to know how she did that. The missionaries came to teach me. The message they shared sank deeply into my heart. It brought hope and peace into my life as I was going through some rough times, including a premature birth of my son and a divorce. I have been raised as a catholic and always believed in Jesus Christ, but I have never experienced such deep en powerful connection with Him as I did upon investigating The Book of Mormon and the matters of Joseph Smith and him being the prophet of God. I had many questions and concerns. The answers and reassurance were placed in my heart in a way that I could only think and feel they came directly from God. I was overtaken by feelings of warmth, joy, peace, comfort and confidence, all at once. I look back at that time with great joy, satisfaction and longing for those special and beautiful feelings to always be with me. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints for 18 years now. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ helped me to become who I am today!

How I live my faith

One of the great motivators to live the gospel of Jesus Christ is service. I have been a recipient of service from people who have busy lives and their own burdens but yet cared and took time and effort to make me feel important not only during trials. I love how I felt and decided I want to be one of those that lift others up, and not only members of the church. It is amazing to see how much joy it brings to me when I am able to help someone, especially when I have my own problems. Then miraculously, my own misfortunes seem small and manageable. The greatest lessons about love and service come from within our own families. There is no better place to exercise love, forgiveness and selfless service than at home. And I think that the greatest motivator for me is my family! To know that someday I will be able to live with them for eternities gives me the strength to live worthy of this wonderful blessing.
