Hi I'm Kari

I am a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister and a redhead. I am a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado with my mom, dad, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I missed almost my entire freshman year of high school because of health problems, but went on to attend college until I was married to a wonderful man, and moved to Alaska for a year, then back to Colorado. I never got to finish college, but plan to finish a nursing degree when my 4 children are in school full time. My family and I have had struggles with health and unemployment, but are blessed to have 4 great kids- 2 boys, 7 & 5 and 2 girls, 3 year old identical twins. I love Italian food and chocolate, I love to spend time with my husband and kids, to read, learn, be outdoors and I am trying to learn to love exercising every day, but that is a work in progress!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon home and have always attended church and activities. I always knew growing up that this church was true because of the good and righteous things it taught me, and the way it makes me feel. My life hasn't been without struggles, and obeying the commandments isn't always easy, but I never feel happier or more at peace, no matter what I'm going through, as I do when I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ- which is what being a Mormon is all about!

How I live my faith

Starting as a little girl, I had the opportunity to teach at church when I was able to give talks to the other kids. I was always nervous, but felt a great sense of accomplishment when I was done. In my adult life I have been able to continue to do this and have taught the teenage girls, the women, and an Old Testament class with all the the adults. I have overcome my fear of public speaking, and I am sure I have learned more from the people in my classes than they have learned from me. Now I have the opportunity to teach and serve all of the young kids, ages 18 months to 11 years old at church and through Cub Scouts. I also get to learn from 3 amazing women each month that I get to visit, how to strengthen my spirituality and how to be a better friend, wife, and mother.
