Hi I'm Tanisha

I am a college student, a runner and a singer. I love to laugh and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and moved up to Washington when I was seven years old. I love to learn. I am a student at BYU studying engineering. I play the violin and piano and am more often than not caught humming as I go about my day! I love to sing because there is so much to sing about. Smiling and laughing are a few of my hobbies. I love the outdoors (especially the evergreens) and I am grateful to be alive and to live with the coolest family in the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into an amazing Mormon family. I never doubted the truthfulness of the gospel and the things I had been taught, but I wanted my own testimony. When I was twelve I asked Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true after reading the book. I received a strong feeling in my heart that told me that the book is true. I testify that the book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was translated by his power. There is no doubt in my mind that Heavenly Father lives and loves everyone of us. He answers all of our prayers and watches over us. I know that Jesus Christ lives. He suffered for my sins and died so we may live again. Through his atoning sacrifice, I can repent and be forgiven of all I do wrong. I can live eternally with my family after I die. This knowledge gives me great joy and happiness. I love this gospel and the happiness and blessings it continually brings to my life. This is the reason I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try everyday to be like Jesus. I do my best to treat everyone with love and respect and to make others feel happy. I read the scriptures and pray for help and support and to thank God for all that I have. I have four younger siblings who I get to be the example to. I am doing my very best to make sure that I am a good example and help them to make the right choices and to be the best sister I can be. I plan to serve a full time mission in the church and to share the gospel with those who need it. I make mistakes just like everyone else. I get mad and discouraged. But, I try my best to live life to its fullest and to be happy, because there is so much to live for.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Mormons focus so much on family because we believe that families are central the plan that God has for us as His children. Families strengthen us and it is in families that we can learn and grow with each other. Even though families may bring challenges and even sorrow, they are where we can turn for strength and happiness in times of need. My family is so important to me because I know that no matter what, I can turn to them for comfort and that they will support me. I love my family and I pray every day for them individually. I want them to be happy and to know that they are not alone. My family is why I strive to make righteous decisions, because I want to be able to live with them forever. Show more Show less
