Hi I'm Sal

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Australia...raised in England...and now have lived almost ,not there yet!..half my life here in USA...why leave Australia?..well, I was 10 months old...not my decision..lol. why leave England?... that was a choice I made...I had completed my RN training...was the mother of a beautiful baby girl...age 2 at that time...what else could one do except move 12000 miles across the world! Actually,I think I gave my parents more grey hairs in those 4 years than appeared over the next 20....because 4 years later I arrived in the US..for something different to do..no job, nofixed abode..no-oe to meet me at the Airport..a 6 yr old in tow...Heavenly Father had his own agenda for me...all those material things fell into my lap.... I love the spirit of adventure...of just picking up and traveling...maybe for a few hours...a few days....a few years...destination to be determined... I also love to stay home...to read,craft...do lunch with old and new friends..absorb the sights and baking smells of Deseret Book....window shop...hunt for bargains..Others' rubbish becoming my treasures...I love my work...I am looking forward to one day, plan my time without having to go to work... I am still a mother..a daughter..a sister.. a friend....Most of all I am me..a child of God....I care for others..for Heavenly Father and all those gone before me..and are yet to come ..The Earth..our home away from Home... The Final phase is here for me...Enjoy...

Why I am a Mormon

my sister was told by my father in her teen years "to find herself a church"...I assumed his plan was for her to research the different religions ..catholic, "Christian".....with what I know now...it was an Angel who had spoken to my Father...and he listened and acted upon it! It was the hey day of The Osmonds ,The Jackson 5 and David Cassidy....and Fab 208... the weekly teen magazine that was delivered every Thursday through the mail "box in the front door...That week the center page was devoted to an interview with The Osmonds. It told of where they grew up. their family...how they became musicians..and Pop Stars...and they talked of how they lived their lives as Mormons...on the page was a boxed area "if you want to know more about The Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints" then followed a few bold lines to add name,address...to cut it out and where to send it...The Mission home that covered our area....Two Missionaries came to our door..and the rest is history... I followed my Sister to church....yes, we were introduced to the church through the Osmonds talking about their Faith.... we became members because we already knew there was a plan.. we didn't know the details ...we received a testimony of how true the Gospel is from watching and questioning and learning from the friends we made by going to church and joining in the fun activities of the Young Women and Young Men's program...and reading the Bible and Book of Mormon.. asking Jesus and Heavenly Father in sincere prayer..to verify the truth of the scriptures...the truth of the testimonies shared by the members of our ward....and the verification came....by feeling...by a certainty of the truth... there was nothing to question... a pure knowledge that Jesus died for me....The Atonement was for all of us...

How I live my faith

I love the Missionary program..there is the full-time 2 years the young adults may participate in...2 years of teaching others...of the life of Jesus Christ ..the same way He taught the people when He lived... I use any teaching moment that may arise in my daily life of working...having fun..meeting people while shopping etc... I teach by example.. I know I fall very short....as sometimes my day is horribly wrong....I like to "visit teach" the 2 or 3 women we have been given... to "check in with"..to get to know.. it is a program that gives us a nudge in the right direction.. to help when we fall ill.. when the kids are wearing us down..it is a time to vent as sisters do.....it is also a time for us to talk of the Gospel...to learn and discuss the Scriptures.. I teach the 7-8 year olds in our church Primary...it is so fun... I love to answer their questions...this age has been blessed with an inquisitive mind.. and so everyone should inquire.... we as parents and teachers give them the basis of good living.. of right and wrong...of enjoying life by putting Christ first....and to let them know that we are not perfect.. not expected to be..and we will make mistakes....and it is ok....we learn from our mistakes.. and won't repeat them..because we know the outcome..and it doesn't feel so good.. in a few words... I try to live a good life...I frequently ask myself.."what would Jesus do?" sometimes I get it wrong...sometimes I get it right....
