Hi I'm Jolene

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife and mother of 6 Children. We have 18 grandchildren. I work at an Insurance Company.

About Me

I like to crochet. I've crocheted lots of baby bootees for my grandchildren. I like to scrapbook photos of my family. I love to be with my children and grandchildren. We usually have several of them over on weekends, especially Sundays. I enjoy tole painting. My mother is a very good artist and has taught me to enjoy painting also.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I would go with my family each Sunday to our meetings. I loved to learn about Jesus Christ. When I became a teenager I started attending our Young Women meetings. I loved being with my peers and learning about the gospel and what my eternal goals are. While in high school I attended Seminary one hour before school started. That was when I received my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's Church to the earth in these latter days. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father and have received this knowledge for myself. I am very grateful for the gospel and appreciate the organizations of the Church that help me live a righteous life.

How I live my faith

I lead the congregational music in our church Sacrament meeting. I know that music can bring the Spirit of the Lord into our meetings. I try to choose hymns that will correlate with the talks that will be given during the meeting. I feel like I'm leading a great chorus each Sunday. I am also a Visiting Teacher. I go once a month, at least, with another lady who is my companion. We visit 2 other ladies in our Ward. We want them to know they are our friends and that we will be there to help them if ever they are in need. We also give them an uplifting message each month. It is fun to go on these visits and I enjoy getting to know others. My husband and I also teach a Strengthening Marriage class. It is a 7 week course and we get to know a lot of people in our vicinity. We end up teaching each other about how important and sacred our marriages are. A few of the lessons are on communication, resolving conflicts and overcoming anger. My marriage is strengthened as I teach.
