Hi I'm Julia

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 children. The oldest is a red-headed 5 year old girl with Down Syndrome. It is an adventure parenting a child with special needs! We have learned and continue to learn much as we try to help her reach her potential, which we believe is limitless. She loves movies, ballet class, swimming, speech therapy and school. Next comes a rambunctious 4 year old red-headed boy. He takes on the role of big brother and is a great helper to our family. Dallin is our sweet and silly 2 year old, then our perfect baby girl who is 4 months old. Life is busy at our home. My husband is in Residency for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is in his second year. He works long and hard hours and we are always happy when he gets to come home. Each day my four year old asks, "Is Daddy coming home tonight?!" When the answer is yes, he shouts, "Yippee!"...and so do I with a sigh of relief. I am a RN and on a very rare occasion I get out of the home and work a shift to keep both my skills and my sanity. :) We like going for bike rides with 2 trailers that we pull, both filled with 2 active children. We love going to the local high school and "racing" around the track with our little ones. We love our family who is all out of state and try to visit them as much as we can. We love the outdoors - camping, hiking, and all that comes with it. Traveling is one of our favorite things to do and we look forward to a great vacation when this Residency is over!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ blesses families. It brings me peace and joy and helps me to be a better wife and mother. I enjoy the support the women's organization of the church gives when I attend events to share ideas on organization, cooking, being a better wife, teaching our children, etc. Having a "church family" I can count on is a great blessing in my life, especially at this busy time of Residency when I live so far from my family. I love listening to the words of the Lord's prophets and leaders and I try to live as God would have me live. I know that His Son is Jesus Christ, our brother, and that He is my Savior. I go to church every week to worship Him. I am blessed by the instruction I receive there and by the people I see while I am at church. I have such joy in living the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in the church. Currently, I help the families when there is an unforeseen need or crisis. I help arrange food for funerals, meals for families who are dealing with sickness/ in the hospital/ or new births. When families are in need of someone to watch children while they are on bed rest, we help with that. It is a joy to be aware of needs and help to fulfill them through service in the church. We also send out birthday cards and welcome home cards and try to visit new families who move into the ward. In past years, I have taught the adult women of the church in Sunday meetings. I have also really enjoyed time I spent coaching the young women in volleyball and going to girl's camp with them. Perhaps my favorite thing to do is to play the piano for the young children in the church each Sunday. It is fun to watch their bodies wiggle and their eyes light up when they sing songs for their Heavenly Father!
