Hi I'm Mori

I grew up in British Columbia. I like family history. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to extend my family tree back as far as it can be legitimately proven. I like old things. And reading, though I do less of it now that I am married and a father of three. I graduated with a political science degree and now work as a claims adjuster.

Why I am a Mormon

One time as a young man I was lying on my back reading the Book of Mormon. I can't remember which part. As I read I recalled a "question everything" message from one of my poli sci instructors. The thought struck me that I didn't have to do that with the Book of Mormon because it was the perfectly true. I felt a spiritual confirmation of that. So, for me, the message to "question everything" becomes "question everything - except the Book of Mormon". That doesn't mean we can't question the book. Just don't need to.

How I live my faith

As a secretary to my local bishop, I arrange appointments and take notes at planning meetings of our local congregation. I enjoy trying to maximize the value of the bishop's time interviewing as many congregants as he wants to see - and some he isn't immediately aware he wants to see. By being diligent at appointment setting I hope to bring the spiritual strength of the bishopric to more fully serve the needs of the members.
