Hi I'm Amaryah

I'm from New Mexico. I'm a wife and mother. I love to read, travel, sew and shop. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently live in Arizona with my husband and baby boy. I enjoy being a stay at home mom and taking care of my family. I love to learn and read. I also love to travel and have had the opportunity to live in and visit several countries in Europe including St. Petersburg, Russia. I also spent 18 months as a full-time missionary for the LDS Church in Madrid, Spain, which was a wonderful experience. I loved learning Spanish and continue to study and use it every chance I get. I sew many of my own clothes and enjoy DIY projects. I like to volunteer and be involved in the community.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members of the LDS Church, and so I was raised attending meetings on Sundays, reading the scriptures and participating in family prayer. My mom was also born into the Church, but my dad learned about the Church and was baptized when he was about 23 years old. Their examples of faith and personal righteousness helped me desire to also know if the LDS Church really was true. As I grew older I knew it was important to learn about the Church for myself and not rely only on what other people said. I often had friends ask me questions about being a Mormon and I wanted to be able to give them correct answers so I studied the scriptures and prayed on my own to know what was true. I gained my own testimony that this is the Church of Jesus Christ that has been restored upon the earth. I believed that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet and that through the power of God, he translated the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that God is our Father and that he lives. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that He has restored His Church on the earth and that there is a living prophet on the earth to guide and direct it. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. Having this knowledge gives me peace and understanding in my life. I believe that I can receive personal direction from Heavenly Father through his Spirit. I know that when I follow Him, I am happy.

How I live my faith

I truly enjoy attending church each Sunday. I love to see the other members of my Ward (congregation), but most of all I love the peace that I feel while there. I also enjoy Visiting Teaching, which is an opportunity to visit other women of the Ward in their homes each month and share a message with them. The Church encourages its members to ask questions and seek answers through study and prayer. I try to study the scriptures each day and pray to my Father in Heaven individually and together with my husband. Doing these things helps me keep the commandments and receive guidance when I am unsure what path to take.
