Hi I'm Lynne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because I was an umpire for 25 years, I've been called a lot of things ... But I answer to mom, grandma, friend, coach, and Lynne. I am a convert and have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saits for more than half a century. For that I am I am truly thankful. I love life and all of the great opportunities to enjoy my family, my friends, my church, and the wonderful world around me. I have a large sign by my bedroom door that I see several times a day. It says, "Happiness is not a destination, it is a way of life." My heart truly believes that. I have been very involved in sports for over 60 years, as a player, umpire, high school coach, and avid fan. I feel God really does know me. As one of my callings to serve in my ward is as sports specialist... At the age of 73, who would have thought?

Why I am a Mormon

I think because I got lucky. At the age of 22, my 15 month old son died suddenly. I had no idea of what happens after death. Nothing seemed to comfort and give hope to my broken heart. Then some wonderful person sent the missionaries to my home. They taught me that, yes, my son was indeed in heaven and I could be with him and Heavenly Father and all of my family some day. What a wonderful promise to me if I live worthy. The missionaries also had answers I'd been looking for my whole life. I'm thankful for the principles and ordinances of the gospel that with the direction and authority of the Holy Priesthood and a living prophet, help teach, inspire, and guide me on my life's journey.

How I live my faith

I am inspired to live my faith by so many good people who have been an important blessing in my life. I am especially thankful for the atonement and the great gift of forgiveness. The chance to start over when I have not made good choices. It is the church of Jesus Christ. It is true. He loves each one of us as if there was only one of us. I know in my heart by the power of the Holy Ghost that temples are our connection to God, to Jesus Christ, to our families in heaven, and also our best hope for our families on earth. We have been sent to earth to live life. As I follow him that is what I am trying to do. As a spiritual child of God, my goal is to live a good, happy life of love and service. Whatever it takes. It is worth it. My Heavenly Father and great blessings await.
