Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a Navy Wife and an avid Ute Fan!! And I'm Mormon :)

About Me

When I was growing up my dad was in the Army. We moved every couple of years. This helped me learn to make friends quickly and relate with other people. I recently was married to a very handsome Navy boy :) I look forward to having a family and giving my kids the same type of experiences my parents gave me in moving and getting know different people and cultures. Currently, I am a high school teacher and swim coach. I started swimming when I was 4 and have swam ever since. I love the sport!!

Why I am a Mormon

I know God lives and loves His children. I know He hears and answers prayers and is aware of our situations. I know He is in the details of our lives. I know He wants us to be happy. I have had my prayers answered. I have felt God's hand in my life as He has guided me to where I am now. I know Jesus Christ is His Son. I know He is the Redeemer of the world. I know that He died for me and paid the price for my sins, so that I can repent of them and one day return to live with Him and God again. I know that miracles still exist today, sometimes you just have to take time and look for them. I know that when Christ was on the earth He gave authority to his apostles to baptize and continue preaching His gospel. I know that that authority was lost with the death of the Apostles. I know that that authority has been given to man again. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one church with that authority. That is why I am a member of this church.

How I live my faith

Right now I teach the women of the congregation once a month. I teach them about basic principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These lessons range from faith to family responsibilities. Although I am not a mother yet, I try and relate to all the women in my class and help them apply the teachings to their lives, regardless of their circumstances. I am also involved in the youth program for the young women. I teach them once a month and attend weekly activities with them. I try and prepare them for life's challenges as a teenager now. They are faced with decisions that will affect their lives forever at a very young age. I want to help them prepare for those moments when they will have to choose what to do, so they will choose to follow the Savior's example.
