I grew up in central california. I enjoy all kinds of sports. Im a mormon

About Me

I enjoy sports and the outdoors. I especially like rifle and shot gun shooting. Living in the Northwest allows you many opportunities to go hunting. I enjoy hunting deer, elk, bear, and wild turkey. I am a father of seven children five girls and two boys. Three of the girls are from China that my wife and I were able to adopt. I work in the medical field drawing blood from cancer and pre-surgical patients.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an area where it was acceptable to smoke and drink at a young age and even drug were easily accessible. Many of the kids I grew up with died in alcohol-related accidents. I was not involved in that because I always felt that there was more to life than the road many of my friends took. When I was 17 years old, I met a small group of kids that went to my high school that seemed to be able to have fun without drinking or drugs. As I became involved with this group, I saw the true happiness they seemed to have in their life that I was searching for in mine. I was raised Catholic but my family only attended during holidays and as I searched, my questions were not answered by the priests, but by my friends, whom I had discovered were Mormon. As I met with the missionaries, I knew that the answers they gave me were what I had been searching for: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going after this life? I was baptized shortly thereafter and was able to serve a mission where my testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ became a solid foundation for my life today

How I live my faith

I am a youth scout leader. I mentor boys aged 16-18 in becoming the men the Lord needs them to be. We discuss missionary work, college preparation, career preparation and service as well as helping them to understand their potential to influence others for good. My family participates in community service such as serving meals, clothing drives and snow removal for my neighbors and especially the elderly in my neighborhood. We are always looking for ways to serve our neighbors and to share their burden and share the light that the Gospel brings to our lives.
